We are seeking a passionate and experienced open source maintainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.JS development, a deep understanding of web server technologies, and a commitment to open source principles. Your role will involve maintaining the SVR.JS codebase, managing community contributions, and driving the project forward.

SVR.JS is a scalable, secure, and configurable web server built on Node.JS. As an open source project, SVR.JS relies on the contributions and dedication of its community to maintain and improve the software.

Responsibilities

  • Code maintenance - review and merge pull requests, fix bugs, and ensure the stability and performance of SVR.JS.
  • Documentation - write and update documentation to help users understand and effectively use SVR.JS.
  • Community management - engage with the SVR.JS community, respond to issues and feature requests, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Release management - plan and execute regular releases, including versioning, changelogs, and announcements.
  • Security - monitor and address security vulnerabilities, ensuring SVR.JS remains secure.
  • Performance optimization - continuously improve the performance and scalability of SVR.JS.
  • Collaboration - work closely with other maintainers and contributors to align on project goals and roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience - demonstrated experience in Node.JS development and web server technologies.
  • Open source contribution - a history of contributing to open source projects, preferably in a maintainer role.
  • Technical skills - strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.JS, Git, and related technologies.
  • Communication skills - excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with the community.
  • Problem-solving - ability to diagnose and solve complex technical issues.
  • Self-motivated - capable of working independently and managing time effectively in a remote environment.
